I thought one of Fletchers cars was originally a Camaro Rolling Chassis. Wasn't there a thread on here last year about it?
Good Luck to all who are there today and Happy Fourth of July.

Chris, I do believe it was a roller. Rusty, I broke a sprag on my last qualifying shot.
Stock and Super Stock are moving right along. They just finished up Super Stock's 3rd, and Stock also has 3 rounds in the books. I have been a little busy or I would have had more Super Stock Photos this morning, I will try to get more for the 4th and 5th rounds later on. In Stock there was one heads up for second round this morning. Ray Thurston won when Gary Merrick turn the red light on. Ray was on a 10.52, and Gary ran a 10.58, it would have been a good race. Along comes 3rd and Ray has another heads up with Joey Wilkes. This race was oh so close with a 0.0014 stripe advantage to Joey for the win. The first two photos are Ray getting ready for the heads up, and Ray and Gary in the burnout box. |

Truman won, Fletcher red lighted first.
I'm on the road, but I do have some more photos. There was a diesel Top Dragster that had a motor let go about the 660ft mark. It took over an hour to clean it up. He never pulled over and took the spill all the way to the turn off. The Safety Safari had all hands on deck getting the spill cleaned up. I'm not sure how much and what type of oil the diesel uses, but it was hell to get it cleaned up. Even with the long delay, Stock and Super Stock along with the Super classes got the 5th round finished. If I get anymore photos I will be sure to post when I get home. |

I'm surprised no one mentioned it earlier, but there was a massive number of "invitations" delivered to racers for drug and alcohol testing. Terry had told me it was probably 50 people, but the one lady that was passing them out said it was 150. Almost a third of the field?

Is that the same one that lubricated the track at Joliet a few years Ago? That was the worst I had seen? I remember getting an oildown ticket for a small dribble of gear lube on the shoulder of the track one year! Guess I don't feel so bad about that now. Hope they require a better oil retention system for something like that! Expecting a regular diaper to hold 11 gallons of oil is like putting pampers on an elephant.
