I think it is a 383. You sure Jim. It is the motor from his Barracuda. I think

Just to set the record straight on Roy Hill's wheelstand. Roy was running against me in my N/SA 4 cylinder Mustang. Roy landed on the 330 foot cone and gave me about a .7 second better 330 foot time, than normal. He completed the run in my lane, with me following behind and running slower than I wanted. I saw the giant wheelstand and had left foot on the brake as well as both hands on the steering wheel, just in case. Roy came over to my brother, later in the day, and gave a sincere apology for ruining my first qualifying attempt. Roy said he only stayed in it to protect the front end from coming down too fast and didn't know he was headed into my lane. My brother said he seemed honest and sincere with the apology. I think that is all we could ask anybody to do under the circumstances. Roy had the car under control for the second run and I wish him a good race!

How is Jeff running in B/SA?. I thought that all the new cars were in FS classes. Is there some new combo?

It is what is being called a showroom stock Challenger. It is basically a street SRT 392 Challenger.

Good point Chris. I thought the new classes (FS/A thru FS/L) were created for the new (2008 and newer) cars that are not Drag Packs, Copos or Cobra Jets. Or are there even more new classes now than before, just curious -not complaining.

Oh and just for the record. I think this thread is just awesome and should be for fun info from Indy. It's just day one of qualifying and already over 100 posts - VERY COOL.

New classes are for factory race cars only. Jeff's combo is a street challenger. Any new street car that is put in the guide still falls in regular classes just as it has always been.

Thanks for the info Jimmy. I wasn't completely sure, so now I know.
