Default how to ID this converter?

Bought a glide yesterday, and converter came with it. Guy I got it from had gotten it with a car he bought, never ran it. Did not have any info on it. Glide with a brake, came out of a BBC Camaro.

Stamped on the trans side face is: 073 HF LS

I dont see anything else stamped on it. Looks like an 8" converter, turbo spline, with 1/4" thick ring welded around the bolt ears.

Any idea who made this and/or any spec's on it?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, the only info I could give you on those stampings is that it has an Opel 073 style stator in it, the HF would designate high flow, the LS would designate low stall. Without opening it you cannot tell the pump blade angle or clearances. I would guess it would have a positive pump angle with a low stall stator, so it would probably be a low stall piece for an 8". Hope this helps a little.

Thanks Lenny!
Will shelf it for now, might try it with a bracket combo some time. I pulled pan on trans, fluid clean and inside of pan pretty clean. Little gray gunk, but no metal and not many flakes.
Maybe all is good with it.

Merry Christmas all.

How about an ATI unit?

It has A421 1603 on snout.

Looked all over. Can't seem to find an ATI code chart.
