I went thru this in 02 with my Camaro. Had it filled with flat metal of the same guage and was told no way. Unfortunately I had discarded all the metal from the original car so I had to buy another one just to get the section from the back to fill in between the frame rails. Would have been a lot easier to do when I was building the car than it was to fill it in afterwards. Good question and good advice from Stewart. Bill |

Chris- thanks for the info. It may help Stewart. The Dart must be slightly smaller. I would like to use the 12.2 x31.25w if I could. With the rails moved or replaced I can.
Bill- I had already cut out the tire well and was going to sell it to someone needing it for restoration. After re-reading my old rule book I noticed the requirement. Luckily it was still in the shop. I was hoping the rule might have changed in the past year. Stewart- you can catch me Sunday and Monday after 9pm Central at 417-359-8309 Thanks |
