Ernie et al,

presume the full-face helmet rule is meant to deal with accidents like Chick Ross' -- although I recall that he was wearing a full-face helmet (unfortunately I think the visor was up, not down...).

interesting too that a methanol and/or NOS car quicker than 7.49 (T/D territory) will require a -15 firesuit and gloves/boots... lots of $$, and I believe the -15 stuff has an expiration of 5 years... that'll be a lot more expensive than the Gen-Turi (generator) exhaust kit...

re:scott mackie top dragster why' on the latter 1st round the fastest car say 6sec gets a 7.20 car check the stats. 6sec cars rarley get by 1st rd same in top sport. so why should someone run 6 sec when he can run s/c and not need all that 15 stuffn still go 211 in super comp have a chane at whinning a round or two. we all no going 6 sec is exp. it seem the throttle stop is easy on my car and track cond is not important. guess what i plan to next year

Speaking of Mr Ross, any one know how he is making out ?? Hopefully on the mend..

And is there anything we can learn by that accident, any things to do to our rides to make them safe as possible ?

On NHRA.com the full face helmet rule is not listed. I know it says its not the complete list of changes but anyone know if this is for sure? Doesn't affect me because i wear one all the time but i know a lot of you OLD guys..LOL...don't like the full face ones.

Slick vic,
everything listed in the DIV 5 website is in the 2008 rulebook. I still think alot of the rule are too vague and need some clarification. the question is who is the right person to clarify. One division might say one thing and another the total opposite. I would hate to drive 1000 miles not to be legal.
