Tony I think most racers that have silver or gold cards wait until after the event has filled before they enter. The bigger question is how dose Vic cagnazzi enter a event like Gainesville after it has reached it's quota.
He's not a past world camp
He did not finsh top ten last year
He's does not have a gold card
He's not currently running or owning a pro team

That's the question guys with 3-2 grade points should be asking. Why is this guy allowed to enter after the event was full. I believe Vic only had 3 grade points.

Charley,

Before you slam Victor, you should do some research. Victor won two Pro Stock World Championships as an owner, owner points due count.

Charlie, Went to my first NHRA points race in 1974. Ran Super Stock for about 6 years in Div 4. Quit for a few years then built Stock Eliminator car that we still race today now in Div 2. Over the years I probably averaged 4 National events and 4-5 points races each year. I was scheduled to run two more points races(Bowling Green & Reynolds) last year but ended up at home because of a family emergency. Last year it there were openings in Gainesville & Indy that you could have entered with two grade points. Guess I was just surprised that it took so many to get in this year. I'm happy for the people who got in but just think that maybe the quota system needs a little revamping. Good luck to everyone at Gainesville. Mike McMahan 2543 H/SA

Kenny that's the biggest line of ***** I have heard in a long time. So what your telling me is that if I were to win a world championship and put my dad as a owner then he could enter at any time?

Kenny I just want everyone to play by the same rules. Seeing how you are a expert on owner points how long do they last?

Yes, your dad would be able to enter, but not you. Either the driver or the owner can enter, not both. The rule has been like that for as long as I can remember. He is a Champion, so it last forever.

I think its fine, the owner pays the bills just like you and me.

So Kenny what happens when the driver and owner both part ways. And they both want to enter the same race.

I don't see Jeg on the sportsman list. Pro's don't use a point system to get in, grading points pertain to sportsman only. It may be a gray area, but I think if this is an issue for anyone, contacting NHRA would be the best way to clarify the rule.
