Comp Cams short travel lifter question

I had nothing but constant trouble with them:

1 Retaining clips were tin rather than a clip and broke several while breaking in.

2 Some Lifters would pump down a few seconds after preoiling and
bend pushrods upon cranking.

3 Some leaked a lot of oil around plunger.

4 Varied in plunger travel a LOT!

I posted about their quality control last year.....Tech line was ZERO help.
Left several messages for Tim Cole and never received a
return call.

Two sets currently residing my weight box.

They're definitely more travel than the lifters my dad and i do, I've measured some that had as much as .090" travel. We keep ours at .020" or less and can customize them if customers prefer more or less travel.

Hey John - which lifters did you try? I don't see any short travel lifters listed for Mopar. I've used the short travel lifters for the Chevy without any issues, but the preload had to be set right, and I'm kinda picky about spring pressures, too.
P.S. Hard to believe that Tim didn't return a call, he's ALWAYS returned every call I made, a couple times it was the next day, but still called back.

Hi Phil, I left messages for Tim, Derrick and others and received no return calls...even as of today, 3 business days, no return correspondence. I did talk to a general tech guy on Friday after being on hold for 25 minutes who stated he was not qualified on the subject and intended on finding someone to call me back, but....not. End result I spent Saturday tearing my customer's engine down and replacing the Comp lifters with last years GM / Sherman tray lifters so he could make it to Indy this weekend..
