Default Re: Mallory Fuel Pump Regulator

No. It's probably something like this that I found on Summit just now. Click on the Instructions link and look at the installation diagrams. A regulator goes in the line anywhere between the pump and the carb. It just has to fit the line size you use. I have a Magnaflow regulator on a Holley Black pump feeding the 4bbl on my 302.

EDIT: Wire it to a relay to keep the high amp switching stuff out of the cabin. If you don't know how to do a relay wiring, here is a good instruction sheet at this link:

Any 30 or 40 amp 5 pin relay will do. You don't need the one in the link. May $6 not counting the wire and connectors.

Dale, have you had any volume issues with your Holley black pump.

Not yet, but it's only a week old.

My Magnaflow 275 sprung a leak on Thursday and I hit Summit overnight for a new pump and it had to be one in stock. I wasn't pleased with a $400 pump springing a leak so I gave the Holley a shot. It's feeding a 600 cfm Holley 4150 on a cammed 302 with 10:1 compression. Jetting was lean and will be 67 primary and 76 secondary for this weekend. I have a data recorder on my A/F gauge, but I keep forgetting to punch the Record button when I get to the water box. Still a bit green...Fuel pressure is 7psi.

I know the filter question wasn't directed at me, but I have a filter before the pump and another before the regulator.

EDIT: The Holley Black is one loud fuel pump.

I have been using a Holley black for a few years now.
I don't think I have any issues.I don't have a fuel guage that I can see from the drivers seat(working on that).
I, as well, use a filter before my pump.No filter after.I also run 7 PSI.
And yes this pump is load. Not hard to tell if it is on or not.
