As for all the DQs, some were for fuel, and DJ Raiser was DQed just for being DJ Raiser, Anyone that had a .010 or better light was checked for electronics and they found the delay box in my car that Beard left in there when he was driving.
Should be over 100 cars after Sat. qualifying, some more cars came in and a few here didnt make the first run. NO fans here for the Fri. night program which is unusual. Its bourbon time! |

Good morning. This first post on Saturday morning will be from the hotel where there's a solid Internet connection. It rained overnight and a heavy cloud cover remains even though the rain as appeared to stop in the area. The weather Channel hourly forecast shows we should be rain free for the rest of the day but with temps in the 50s and cloud cover. Based on the qualifying schedule posted to drag race central the race is behind schedule with top alcohol funny car and the top sports men and dragster classes yet to make their first qualifying attempt. The original schedule calls for qualifying to continue at 9 AM and I'm sure there will be schedule adjustments today. Based on what I know now stock and super stock will get one more qualifying run and then go to R1.
Stay tuned and be sure to tune in to D3 TV which will be streaming live from the track.

A couple other random shots from yesterday. The first is the 66 Chevy wagon of Roy Dean that he drove to runner up in Stock at the US nationals 30 years ago. This is the car it was previously owned by Canadian Camille Threault (please excuse the misspelling).
![]() ![]() One of the many cars from the Jimmy Ronzello and George Wright operation. This is Jimmys CJ. ![]() Tony Goodman made it! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Bob Michael is a real character. When I commented on how fast that big red Tri-Power Pontiac is running he quickly shot back "nobody is more surprised than me".

Division one racer Brian Philbrick was involved in a towing accident on the way here. Brian's trailer got tagged from behind when the traffic in front of him checked up quickly. The good news is there was very little damage to his Monza stocker. Brian turned around towed the bent up trailer back home and then made the trip here to Norwalk just to spectate.
