Tom, It is a little more complicated than that. The longer wheelbase and more rear overhang of the Maverick allow it to pitch rotate better than the Mustang. This allows the Maverick to plant the tires better all the way down the track. Keeping in mind that we are only allowed 9 inch tires this is an important advantage. The addition of wheelie bars on the Maverick controls some of this rotation.
As a side note.. The Mustang(like the Chevy wagon) has MUCH better brakes.
I hope this clears up some of the confusion.

I'd think it was great too if they was t/sa cars Billy LOL

I'm sending them to T as fast as I can !

And in legal terms by grouping them together for a HP reduction the group should receive HP increases too

Captain....

Jack, I was telling the guys I have lunch with about your car and what you ran up at BG. Just so I have the math right, what is your hp factor?

Jack, I feel your pain. But you've got to admit that interest has been created and cars are being built and THAT'S a good thing.
Now about that "legal terms" thing, I think that is called a precedence.

Don't need any help in T class, Jack, send them on up to R.

You don't want me down in U, do you?

Talking Re: HP off / HP on ??

Very Interesting discussion..!

After hearing all the dirges about how Stock Eliminator is just a Bracket Race and it isn't this or not that..!
Why would anyone be dumb enough to build a Stocker.
ALL those RULES and so little appreciation.

Yet this conversation you all are having is what all the Stock Hating Naysayers are missing.

What other class would racers consider racing the boring unromantic odd ball car with strange engines and carburetors and exciting spine tingling sexy name names such as ... CYCLONE Fence !!

Hear in our community USA has a totally different meaning.
Stocker racers are SPECIAL no doubt.

Takes a lot of ambition, brain cells, reading rules, skill, no money, no Nitro, no huge blowers, no hipster headers. Yet build beautiful cars that can run 11's in the lower classes with just what the car came with.

The Naysayers just will never get it

Certainly that 164hp wheelie bar equipped Maverick would have a parachute??
