Well we have finally cooled off and are all packed up for the 750 mile trip home. We plan to leave first thing in the morning rather than getting to the mountains in the dark tonight! It has been a great weekend! Got to the 4th round and won a heads up race along the way! This facility is fantastic along with all the people who work here that we had any dealings with. It has been great to be able to be hooked up to electric since it has been in the 90s the past 2 days. The AC has been running non-stop. The race was well run and Larry hooked every time even in the hot muggy weather!
Hopefully there will be another divisional here next year and more people decide to participate! Look at it this way--you only use half the racing gas!! Patsy |

Got to meet Larry and Patsy yesterday and Rusty Davenport this morning. Nice seeing you guys . I'm liking this NHRA racing. After thrashing all week to make this race we got there late yesterday. We broke a Rocker on the first hit this morning and didnt have a spare. Kinda pi$$ed at myself for not having a $4 dollar spare rocker.
My take on this event: 1) A lot of dyed in the Wool NHRA racers will not race 1/8th mile. They are really missing out especially at this facility. 2) It's in the middle of Div 2 and Div 1. This race needs support from the north and far south to survive. 3) The local TD and TS racers will not buy the required safety items to compete when they can go to the local tracks and race with shorts and flip flops 4) The Local IHRA S and SS racers are predominately Crate motors, GT stockers, and Production SS cars. No classes in NHRA for them 5) The reast are scared to death of NHRA tech. For the Record the NHRA Staff has been nothing but Awesome to me. 6) The Forcast didnt help either I hope they do it again next year nice having another event close by Chip Johnson Last edited by THE LEGEND; 06-04-2016 at 09:46 PM. So Sad how these Susposed racers feel about 1/8 mile racing. If they would go and try it and get good at it they would be much better 1/4 mile racers. Oh well it's their loss!
