They could have fixed all the classes years ago, but they don't have racers making the decisions anymore. The money, computers, and the lack of a driver actually having the skill to drive and tune killed the sport. The computers do it for them now. It will be reduced to monster truck status in 10 years.

My two cents;
The Summit team did their homework (R&D), it certainly shows and is well deserved. The cars are still butt ugly even without hood scoops. I don't know what the average fan who attends NHRA national events expect from the Pro Stock class but I'm pretty sure what those of us on this forum expect and that is a grassroots format like the factory Drag Pak, Cobra Jet and COPO cars. They are identifiable to us, the average fan and most importantly the Big Three and without their support the class will die. I think Sox, Landy, Jenkins and Nicholson would all agree don't you? |

Frank Castros, you are absolutely right. Personally, I prefer to race weird old cars in Stock but I had high hopes for the new offerings. I knew that it was too much to even dream of but what a shot in the arm it would be for Pro Stock to reinvent the class for them. It would still be a rich guy class but so much more interesting for virtually every single spectator!

V's decision to pack it in is what it is...I would like to own his rig he hauled the Pro Stock car in. Not a nicer looking BIG RIG on the road, not to mention the biggest stacks I've ever seen....Sweet!
How much V??....... |

That whole Brogdon & Gray engine lease feud last year, makes Brogdon look like a smart man.

Bob Glidden claims in his first ProStock race he won $12k with a total investment in car and support equipment of $19k...today's economics do not make sense...more and more racers are figuring it out...
