That is an impressive list. I don't think there is a track operator out there including NASCAR who could do all of that now with this economy. It would be awsome if they could.

The majority of your list has already been taken care of by the Baders in Norwalk. Top notch facility guys. Going there week after week, month after month has really spoiled me. There isn't another track that can compare except maybe Joliet.

Interesting list.
I see # 10 has suites over the grandstands, but more covered spectator seating would be nice. It seems all the mega tracks that are built now are designed to make spectators bake in the sun . I agree with # 1 on the list....A 30 amp hookup in select spots. Not having to run a generator is nice ! A 50 amp hookup for the big rigs # 18 also... a PA system that works beyond the first 1/8th mile so when you are pitted 1/2 mile from the starting line you can still hear what's going on. Some tracks are already using this, but a mass texting service you sign up for on your tech card so when your class is called to the lanes, you receive a notification text ( in case # 18 is not working)

Showers are a must. I spent multiple days at Joliet and Gateway this year, with no showers available. Yes, I know I could have gone over to the truck stop at Gateway and paid for a shower.
Topeka is the standard-bearer when it comes to the bathroom/shower building.

Interesting list and shows how spoiled we are in the Maritimes. One of the first tracks I raced at full time was Maitland Int raceway and it was a converted campground. I thought all dragstrips had water and elect hook up at each spot! LOL! All four Maritime tracks have FM radio broadcast so as long as you have a radio on you can hear the announcer. Showers, yup PEI and I think Miramichi have free showers. (so awesome after racing all day in the heat) PEI also has some covered area's for spectators/racers, plus a fenced in playground for kids as well as an uphill shut down area.
Btw, this is all free, included in the entry fee. So looking at the list, I think it's got great idea's, but the pay for every single thing would turn me off. Yes I agree with pay as you go mentality, but an extra fee for a playground for your kids or hearing the announcer? That's a little much. Grocery store/restaurant/casino/etc at the track? AWESOME idea, gives the better half something to do other than listening to open headers. (GB2-spoiled in the Maritimes) Last edited by goinbroke2; 08-24-2016 at 11:44 AM. |

Buy Power Ball tickets. After you win spend $50 Mil building your dream track. Unless you're going to do a typical government $$$ entitlement bailout I'll bet you're broke in one year. But it is nice to dream.
