More class finals I lost ,but should have won.
" there is a big difference between failing & being a failure" 1997 INDY R-L  1998 Chicago ,this one hurt R-L  1997 Atl R-L  I have tore my ham string, have a cast on my leg and cann't drive for 6 weeks. Hard to set so I'll have to stop till I can set better. |

not braging ,but wanted to share these class final stickers. When you lose 9 out of 10
it's nothing to brag about. Saved them in the yrly albums. these in the 68 camaro, was just racing to race. No chassis work & not much money spent on it.   in 96 got a invention to the Car Craft banquet, thought i might get " the one leged SS driver of the YEAR " AWARD. dId NOT GET INTRODUCED, JUST A FREE SUPPER. []  [.jpg[/IMG][/URL] NOW RACING OUR 69 , it was set up and tryed lots of cams, converters & had the chassis done  our only SS class win in SS

69 Camaro SS/Ha
 should have won this one, http://www.imagebam.com/image/92cefc506025940][IMG]http:/  /1977 Gators, nhra didnt give them out ,but Ruth made one.  1978 Spring was wrong about being fastes, found this   1979 INDY 1st race in Volaire SS/NA [  1980 Gators last final in SS  1978 IHRA Class decal would have been SS /HA Class ,just found dont remember how many yrs they gave them out

Then in 1983 we started to run in Stock, as I had a operation on my knee I was telling Ruth, I'll not be able to run SS at Indy. She said why not run our street car in stock, maybe youll get a bye run for class. that;s what happen. We ran stock from then till 2003, with 43 class wins & 9 r/u.
In 1994 & 5 as I drove Rossi fwd Dodge i lost class final at indy to Joe Moores Citation v-6. So dodge went to NHRA & asked for more than 4 classes, it went to 6 ,so 4 cyl would not have to run v-6's 1983 Indy   1984 Winternts Driving Rossi Charger fwd won class  1984 Sports class win  1984 Indy lost in 84 & 85  Have all 43 class win & 9 r/u stickers Rossi Dodge 600 raced in 86 & 87 https://photos.smugmug.com/My-First-...0quilfer-M.jpg Last edited by TOM KASCH; 09-23-2016 at 06:33 PM. |
