Thumbs up Re: Torque Converter who do you use

All great companies mentioned here. The key is finding the right fit to work with you on your program and what works best for your combo and collected data , as each combo is different. Listening to the racer is very important, as there is no substitute for seat of the pants! Again, you can not go wrong with any of the mentioned companies.

wow i definitly appreciate the info and all the response. i will say i don't have a dyno sheet on this motor, and it will probably not be dynoed until its in the car. my curiosity is would a rear wheel dyno sheet help a converter company spec a converter? i have a couple converters that aren't right for the combo but they could be used for a couple dyno pulls if the info would help the converter company get closer.

I have never used a Chassis dyno but all my engines are put on a engine dyno before I get them. Lenny/Ultimate worked with me on the dyno sheets and came up with the right converter, stall and shift points the first time out based on my engine dyno sheets. Don't know if you can get peak HP and torque on a chassis dyno to figure out stall???? Some one may have experience with that?

Keep doing your homework, tons of great information available here on CR.

Engine and chassis dyno's are tool, you have to go down the track to improve and be consistent.

Good luck.

I've been looking around to get some feedback from anyone who has tried the Coan billet bolt-together converters in Stock... Anyone on this board tried one yet? Overall we've been very happy with the performance and consistency of the ATI 8" converters as well, just always looking for feedback on new stuff on the market.
