Wow, well ok. Let me see how I can sell this thing. Thanks for the info guys. I figured it was out of an Impala station wagon or something.

Brian…If you advertise that block make sure you list it with the date code of the casting and all the numbers on the deck. Getting "Good" money generally means it is going to make someones car date code correct. But the "Best" money is when the block gets matched up with the original car. Corvette Restoration Suppliers may have an Engine Wanted List and often will pay what it is worth or list it on the NCRS website. Good Luck…MB.

Thanks for that tip. I own a Corvette but I'm not really into those cars that much. Thanks again.

I've been looking for one of those for a buddy of mine that has an old 1967 Biscayne that we beat around in in High School. It was his fathers car and his Dad has passed on. We just trying to make it back original & keep it in the family. We must have beat on it so much his Dad changed the engine. When we took it apart it had a factory 396 short block in it, HA! Some where around the end of Sept 1966 to mid Oct 1966 would be the date codes we need. His car is an early production 67 that was built in Nov 1966. Date code Example: I or J (first ) 6 (Last) Like I266 for Sept 26 1966 or J36 for Oct 3 1966.
