Ken you could come down to Rocky Mount hit 64 over to Raleigh and then get on US1 south to Rockingham. That wouldn't add a whole lot to it.

Might be a better ride only 30 more miles/30 mins . Map quest was sending down 85 over the falls lake area which should be ok by then .
