My experience on the dually as well as motorhome is that Michelins are worth the extra $. Others may require several attempts to balance even with Hunter Road Force.

My truck (03 3500 Silverado) has Hankook tires, came from a fellow racer, Ronnie Maggart. I swapped to 19.5" wheels (Vision), and I'll never go back.

I actually ended up with a pair of outer rear wheels that have rivets like Centerline wheels that I need to sell.

If you want to do what I did on a budget, you can find the GM 19.5" steel wheels on vendor trucks (bread companies, snack companies, tool trucks, etc).

On all of my dually's that I have owned the best tire was the Firestones. The Transforce is a good tire at a reasonable price. FYI Goodyear was the worst. I had some Dayton Commercial that were real good too.

Hi,

I use the Michelin 215/85 x 16 load range E ATX tires......

First OEM set I got 85,000 miles of use and the second set I got 100,000 miles........

I have a set them on my 1999 Ram 3500 2x4 Dually Cummins P/U now with about 40,000 miles on them....

I just went on line to check the current price, but I see that tire is not listed anymore and might be discontinued......

So much for a good thing..........

Bob
