Yep! I had one in the late '60s. My first race-only car. Lots of screws to change Jets. LOL

Say, Ed, since you go waaay back, I wondered if you tried or had an opinion on:
At Topeka, when Grumpy Jenkins was involved with Pro Stk Trucks, he took an interest in the Nomad, and eventually built the tunnel ram we use; a few years later, again at Topeka, he came by our pits while my late partner, Ron was resetting the float levels....he grabbed a float and took a marker and said why don't you cut these down so bowl holds more.....as he got on his scooter, he said..."might work, might not" Never tried it, did you Kinda funny the way he said it |

I used bigger needle & seats from Parker Brothers (local company, they are retired now) They did not use tapered needles, but a flat neoprene disk that kinda floated on the end of the needle. A ridge around the hole in the seats. They held high pressures better than conventional needles & seats. They made me some .150" seats, I used 12 psi, and put secondary floats in the front as well. They had the recess in the bottoms to clear the secondary flapper shafts. A little more volume. Red tore me down for Records three times, always made me pull the tops off both carbs. Never mentioned the floats. I didn't either. - ![]() Carroll Caudle worked with Edelbrock, and they always sent him the newest thing for his car. He was very fast at the time they sent him the new "mini ram", like some Pro Stock cars were running. You could not buy one at the time. He didn't have time to change his car around, and go through all the testing. He gave it to me, I had a local shop cut the flanges down flush, and welded on plates to bolt my WCFBs to. No hood clearance if I just used bolt-on adaptors. Thankfully they were small enough at the flange to match them to my heads. As you remember, we could not touch the heads at that time. Forgot to add, we did not have the fuel pumps & adjustable regulators we have now. I used 2 Carter pumps, in series, to get more fuel pressure. I turned one off, except at WOt. Had a toggle switch on the dash for one pump, supposed to be turned on when raced up to leave. Until I forgot to turn it on, and lost a round. Put a push button (universal starter button) under the accelerator pedal to turn that pump on when WOT only. It tended to flood a little at idle otherwise.
