If you'll notice this $700 intake on eBay has a notch cut out of the divider,
I believe that is not legal for stock.
At least that is what Mark Lelchook said about the 1972 340 cast iron intake
I have with the same notch in the divider.

This is an aftermarket manifold. All standards-rules-assumptions- considerations that apply to traditional replacement parts do not apply here. The notch in the divider was common to all Edelbrock manifolds of that era to allow the use of 3-barrel Holley carbs that were the hot lick of the day.

hmmm, I looked at two 340 intakes, the 2100 and the 025 , they have no notches. the 2100, is for 71 and 72 340. just observation from the field.

I don't think any of the factory SB Mopar intakes had a notch. Maybe the 2bbl intakes, but it's been a long time since I've seen one of those.

I don't have a dog in this fight but I'll point out that no 340 four-barrel engine had an Edelbrock intake bolted on when it rolled off Chrysler's Mound Road Engine Plant in Detroit.

The Chrysler part number cast onto the runner was there for two reasons.

1. To make the manifold legal in Super Stock back in the day.

2. For sale through dealers during the Hustle Stuff (and later Direct Connection) parts programs.

Just pointing out factual history and not distorting it.

You know, like when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor...

Those intakes are for Thermoquads not AVS's. Jim
