Do you think the early Pontiac 3 barrel afb and manifold could get in, bet Norman would really like that!

Interesting! Could this have something to do with the Tech Dept. suddenly approving an (bogus) Edelbrock intake (and maybe more to come?) for Stock Eliminator?

This isn't over by a long shot! Keep calling and e-mailing your DTD and California with your thoughts!

I could understand if they still made the LD340, but it's been out of production for a long time. Modern replacement is in their RPM/RPM Air-Gap series.

Wait Wait Wait

Hold the presses......

I wonder since the availability of the LD340 is limited will NHRA Tech now allow a superseded manifold to replace the LD340 such as............

Air-Gap
Torker/TorkerII
or
Victor

The jury is still out.....

Tech just gets defensive when questioning their reasoning.....

Why supercede an out of production aluminum manifold for an out of production cast iron manifold?
Are they that bored over there? I could give them plenty to do.

What has me concerned here is NHRA has already approved the LD4B for the 273. They pulled off a sneaky approval recently of the LD340. Using NHRA reasoning(not my reasoning), I don't see why the DP4B wouldn't be approved for the 383 and the CH4B for the 413 and 440. They are in the same parts book with the same "aftermarket" P in the part number.
Now, AFTER they have approved these intakes, why couldn't they approve a "replacement" intake just like the 396/375 deal?
Knowing what I know about the AMC Edelbrock intake, I have to say that based on what NHRA is doing with the Mopar intakes, the AMC intake should be legal. And to go one step further, when will NHRA start approving Edelbrock intakes for all makes based strictly on legal precedence?
We're fast on our way to being ET-2!
