I was thinking 85s to 73s to 49w to morehead rd north / or to 485n to 29east and loop around if morehead rd is not for large rigs ....?

Ken has a good point on Morehead road tight right turn with long rig. His option to go past Harrisburg to I 485 then North to Hwy 29 and North or right back to speedway if over length is correct. This will save you at least an hour and much more depending on time of day. If you are looking at I 77 it is worse in both directions anytime of day north of Charlotte.

I think you all are making more of this than it really is . I live within 10 miles of exit 55 it only backs up at commute time in the morning and evening. I will go down and take a ride up 85 and post sometime Monday evening. when they are done with this road work it will be 4 lanes each way.

If you stay to the right as you get to exit 68, just take exit 68 that is 29 south it goes to the track. Some traffic lights thru kannapolis then concord but it is all four lane.

Took 85 south from mile marker 63 to 55 at 10 am two lanes open all the way at 60 miles per hour. four lanes open from mile marker 57 to Charlotte.
