I break and mount my slicks at home. I've had a pair of MT 10.5's where one tire was moving inches every week. broke it down, wiped bead with acetone and sprayed hair spray on the bead then aired it up. Worked great, no more slip, clean and nothing to clean up when I replaced them. That's the only tire I've ever had move and haven't used screws in years and have run Phoenix,Hoosier and MT.

I sandblast the bead areas of the rim and use no lube.

I did nothing to mine, but mount them dry. A little movement the first day, then they stay put.

Thank you guys so much, for the input. I went with "wiped clean and dry" and the slicks mounted nice and haven't budged. No tubes either and they're holding air very nicely!
