Somebody said "run class only"?? Do you not realize many classes will only have one car?

I think you should get the record, whether you want it or not, if you run quicker or faster than the current record at an Divisional, National, or Open. It shouldn't matter if it is Qualifying, Class, or Eliminations. As long as it was backed up within 1%, it's yours. Pass fuel, pass weight, seal the motor right then and there on the return road and be given a 30 day window for a tear down or before your next race, whichever is sooner. Can't race another event until you have fulfilled the tear down obligation. If you pass, congrats you are the new record holder!
Now on to the perks you've just earned: All the ideas proposed sounded good. I like the idea of at least a round's worth of points. I also like the free grade point idea. A free national event entry is a great idea or maybe $100 credit toward one. The insurance is never free even for gold cards I think? Tom's idea of first round bye is a nice idea that can definitely be built on. ND coverage helps. Engineers/experienced tech officials will be necessary. |
