I wasn't going to bring this up but since this thread just happened to pop back up again, final qualifying at the 2017 U.S. Nationals there are five 340 cars in the top 40 using the now legal LD340 that's "not worth anything over the stock intake". Care to guess how many were in the top 40 or 50 or 60 last year? None, fastest in 2016 was #66.

Might want to check with Mr. Beach on the performance gain. I believe he still runs all cast iron. Maybe NHRA not adding these runs to their respective combination at Indy this year helped. Looks to me it was very competitive in D-F/SA and for those guys probably a blast. Well for the winner anyway.

Maybe these guys just worked on their cars. I know for a fact one of these cars is all new from headers to carb and he has never shown what he could do all out before. You need the whole story not just innuendo and hearsay. So get over it and move on.

My vote for most impressive performance gain is Mitch in his Barracuda. Not sure if he runs the 340 with the intake in question. 1.16 under at Indy is very impressive.

It is a 383 rated at less HP than a 340.

lol If thats the case, from the HP #'s gained from this that i've been hearing, he probably would be very competitive in your class right now!
