My Camaro was built in the mid 70's by Wolverine Chassis in Michigan. Still has the same Dana 60, Ladder bars and mono leaf springs. Also has the same roll cage but have had some bars added. I did have the Ladder bar cross member replaced a few years ago because it was cracked. We have been bracket racing it the last few years but should have the 327 back in next year and hope to get back to doing some Super Stock racing.

My 68 Camaro SS project is one of the ex Modified Production cars of Checkmate fame. It came to Canada in 1974 and still has its SRD rear chassis, mono leafs, ladder bars and Dana 60. Other than removing the 3 point/4 point rollbar and putting a cage in it in 1985 it is still the same. Not sure of when it was built originally but probably 71 or 72

all the springs do is hold up the car, if they are the right spring rate you would not likely see a improvement it ET coil overs or not

Just out of curiosity how many guys built their own car and still have it today, I remember Mike Pearson was 17 and I was 18 when we started putting his car together. We would work our day jobs and work till midnight at the shop. 6 days a week, no regrets would do it again

Ed, As we have discussed, I'm running dad's chevy2 wagon that was back halved around 1975. Mono springs, ladder bars, slider, Dana 60 with no coil overs. Springs have be re-arched once. Same roll bar with swing bar. Only change I made to bar was install swing bar on passenger side bar last November so I could carry my 83 yr old dad back down the track again. He was diagnosed last year with Alzheimer's. Hell, I'm still running the same crank, block, and forge-trued 2-ring dyked pistons from the early 80's. Not fast, but I'm having a grand time.
