Jim...until recently had the AC in the car.
It felt great after a run in the Summer heat.
Electric Windows are great to get fresh air.

In fact use to drive to all the IHRA races from 2011 to mid 2016.
Change to the 4 race tires and Race all day.
Then put the street tires on and go to the motel or head home.

In fact I raced at Bradenton, Fl by putting the car on the auto train!
From Sanford Fl drove to Bradenton IHRA race.
Pulled the street tires and installed the race wheels.
Went a couple rounds that weekends.
Stayed at a motel and met my wife and daughter Vacationing in Sarasota.
Then drove to Kississimee to finish our vacation.
Put the car back on the auto train and home.

The Class Nationals I drove my Pure Stocker to the Race.
About 6 - 7 hours driving time.
Did the old school thing by switching tires at the track.
Putting the street tires on to go to the motel then home.

It was a good bit of work.
Got the task of replacing the tires down to 15 minutes.

Now I have nice Featherlight trailer...!
I tow with a Customized 94 Caprice Wagon.
One day the trans broke coming from a race.
So pulled the car off the Trailer and drove it home since it is tagged.
Retrieved the Wagon and trailer later.

In fact have been drag racing my Impala SS flipping tires back and forth since 2004.
Even autocrossed the car and advanced driving FATT at Summit point.

My business and family come first.
Pure Stock was the perfect venue to get back into racing Stock.

Really do not want the stress having a high maintenance Stocker.
Things break easier, got the costly fuel, and the expensive refitment to run competitively and maintain safety requirements.

Did you know I have over 200k miles on my car.
Fortunately have choices...and going to take them!

Sounds like a bracket car story to me, not a class car story.

Dan, I feel for ya, understand completely as I was collecting parts to build a crate motor car. You will never get NHRA to make a decision on anything by writing on a forum though. Even if you got 100% agreement on here (which obviously will never happen), you need to petition NHRA and get as many others to sign on to it. Even though they read classracer, they need someone running point to actually present something to them because they sure as hell won't read a forum, decide everybody likes something and then implement it on their own.

Good luck with your efforts.

WOW JIM:
You sure are hard headed.
I ran at several IHRA races this year.
Piedmont (6.5 hrs), Farmington 7.5 hrs), MIR (2.5 hrs), Pittsburgh - Keystone (4 hrs) and Empire (7 hrs).

Do not contact me again.
Have never been disrespectful to you or anyone on CR.
Your imbedded bigotry and inappropriate comments noted..!
Don't ever speak to me or approach me !!

Fine to discuss opinions about racing.
Your characterizations are over the top.
You are on IGNORE!

Will report this to the Arbiter...

Good day
D

Thank you !
You do make progress without asking.
In fact did petitioned and converse with NHRA and they liked my offer.
Just not in their interest right now.
That is fine. Did my due diligence.

With NMCA may renew the Pure Stock Challenge.
PureStockDrags and I have talked and cool stuff brewing there.

CR is a good medium for ideas and concurrence.
Got a lot of encouraging emails from CM and PS drivers.

Will run S/SS associations, still have ECIRS, Club and Bracket racing.
Getting advise where to get work done on the car.
Friend recommended HFR Fabrication for a Roll Bar.
Not sure the 10 bolt 8.5 inch rear will hold up to the extra HP.
Time to think and assess.

As for being a Bracket Car..yes.
When you run Eliminations you set up the car for Bracket Racing.
Handicap racing is Bracket Racing.
Your ability to cut a light an run on your dial is Bracket Racing.

Unlike regular Bracket Racing everyone is looking for more performance in Stock.
Started in G/PS running 13.50's now F/PS running 13.0's.
Planned to set the record in F/PS.
You do not set records in Bracket Racing.
You are not limited to mods in bracket racing as in Stock.

Pure Stock has more restrictive rules to go fast than Stock.

Just saying

D
