NHRA has approved 4 aftermarket cylinder heads for SBC stock engines for 2018. It's up to you to look up your engine in the guide and choose the ones listed for your combo,

RHS Cast Iron heads # 12400 & 12402 accepted as replacement head

Edelbrock heads # 60887, 60637 accepted as replacement head

Dart Cast Iron heads with cast # 10021070, 100220010 accepted as replacement head

World Products Cast Iron heads with cast #'s 043600 & 043610 accepted as replacement heads

Got it thank you, I see a +5hp goes with these too.

It looks like the Edelbrocks are an aluminum casting and come with 2.02 intakes instead of the 1.94. Would this still be a legal replacement but + 5 hp?

Keep in mind these heads still have to CC and have the same valve size as the head you're replacing.

Are you really sure about that?

The GMPP 401 head is actually an Edelbrock head (and in fact, the Edelbrock head itself is now approved), I'd strongly suggest that you look at the difference in specs for it and the rectangle port closed chamber heads it replaces. It (the replacement head) has its own chamber cc, port cc, and exhaust valve size.
