Dave,your hot set up would be a nice used set of equal length Stahl headers and some collectors from Mark L. at Performance Welding. It takes time and testing but there is ET finding the right primary length and then hanging on some extensions to Marks collectors. I had the exact Stahl header you are needing but sold them last October......

Dave, try a Hooker Super Comp #2124 header. It's 1 5/8" primary tube dia. and there is enough length to try various length collectors. The #2116 header is 1 3/4" diameter, and the #5 spark plug and wire is almost inaccessible. The #2124 is also easier to install. Finding an optimum header for a Chevelle shouldn't be a huge issue.

Just a suggestion based on some positive results in the past.....Don't overlook finding some old M/T - Holley Tri-Y headers. Cheap enough to test. Just sayin'.
