I feel the pain for everybody I really do.

That being said...

At the Seattle Nationals in 07. Super Stock went into 1st round of elims with ZERO qualifying hits. None, zip, 0...

It definitely sucks.

Good morning all, and sorry about the lack of reports and photos. The internet was pretty slow during the day as there was a large crowd here. Stock and Super Stock probably wont be out until after 1:00.

Its cooler today, but there is bright sunshine out this morning and should be all day. I am staying for the finals and will have more photos from today's action later today or tomorrow.

Here some random shots for the Showdown cars and Super Stock.

Factory Showdown qualifying was a descent show with several cars into the "O 's". DSR was number 1 on the final sheet, top speed was 174 and change. Track prep for qualifying was real good, it was sprayed and rubbed to 330'. Its a tuners game, and what a game to watch!

This should already be the case, with just two lanes. We have run a complete race with over 400 entries, 1 time trial, and 1 round of Re-Entry style buybacks in one day, numerous times.

I'm surprised there hasn't been chatter about this incident here...
from Quarter Mile Media:
Quote:
NHRA Pro Mod Charlotte Q2 has been revised, disallowing Rick Hord's 5.711 @ 260.91 run from Q2.

The stated reason was even though the car passed post run inspection including review of data requisition, because Rick refused to provide NHRA with a hard copy, the run was ruled "illegal".

Rick Hord stated that he spent a lot of money in developing his car and rightfully concerned with where a hard copy of proprietary info could end up.
How much are you willing to share with NHRA regarding your build and tuneup, after they've already inspected and passed everything?

Sorry for what y'all experienced this weekend. I quit "volunteering" a couple of years ago. Don't miss NHRA, but I do miss the people.

Why doesn't alcohol run 4 wide? For that matter why not all non handicap classes ?That would really save some time.

Khalid spends lots of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to race NHRA --Hord while being fast does not compete on the WHOLE circuit---might be why all the strong arming--- plus both he and his dad can get an "attitude" on occasion-- just my .02cents

One thing for sure there are several ways to look at these situations. When I come to a National I expect things to go bad, I expect to have my run pushed back to later in the day or whatever. I guess that's why it doesn't bother me, it can be frustrating if you let it but I look at it as more time to visit with friends. I'm here to have fun and that's what its all about anyway.
Now to some reporting, the weather took a complete about face last night, its cold windy and sunny. Should make for some interesting dialing today. Current numbers are atleast a 1000' from yesterday.

[QUOTE=Michael Beard;561958]This should already be the case, with just two lanes. We have run a complete race with over 400 entries, 1 time trial, and 1 round of Re-Entry style buybacks in one day, numerous times.

My point is that if they used all four lanes, even if just for qualifying and the first couple rounds, it would go almost twice as fast as a traditional two lane track.

As far as racers whining about which set of lanes they are in, why not just adopt a standard track prep. Same prep to both sides before competition, same prep between classes, X number of passes by tractor, X gallons of traction compound, etc.
Make whatever you do consistent between the lanes. It can't be any worse that sitting around all weekend waiting to run after numerous pros have run and track prep or conditions have changed from when you ran a time trial 36 hours ago.

Just add a day. that would fix a lot. we use to have 128 fields for stk and s/s and got it all done. just a guy with a "street car with stickers" opinion, lol
