Love Numidia and glad to see Bob get a Divisional back. Love that track and have a good history with putting together a few big $$ .90 races up there. I hope to see a lot of racers come out and support the track but, I know it was always a struggle to get people to get up there because of the tough tow. I know when they used to have the D1 race there it used to drawl a lot of cars and a lot of D3 cars would use it as their out of Divisional Race. I know some people are mad because it's on top of Bristol but, so was the E-Town D1 race so I think we should be thanking Dave & D1 and the SRCA Reps who hooked it up to get a replacement for E_town instead of just going down to 6 races. See everyone tomorrow sometime.

I love the ride up to Numidia, well at least on my bike.
This is one of my favorite pics taken from one of the "Combo In The Hills" a number of years ago.

so tired of hearing the tough tow excuse.
it's the year 2018, buy a diesel pickup, toter or MH and stop with the excuses. |

Keep in mind that not everybody can afford a modern toter, MH or high powered tow vehicle. I personally towed with a '94 Chevy dually for 15 years. It did a good job most of the time, but it's 454 TBI was a dog in the hills and I wouldn't even attempted to pull my rig up mountainous areas, but it was what I could afford at the time. I was fortunate enough to recently replace it with a Chevy Duramax dually that could take me to the Mile Highs if I had the inclination. Sorry for going off of the subject.

No toter, no MH here.
My trailer loaded is over 14,000 lbs. and the hills my diesel pickup easily pulls this tag trailer up on the way to Numidia pale in comparison to the hills it also easily pulls it enroute to Bristol. |

What a beautifully day it is today, temps are in the 70's, it is a little windy, but still very pleasant out. Testing starts at 12. The track is starting to fill up, and looks like we will have a good turn out.

I have heard various reasons why racers do not like going to Numidia.
~It's too hard to get there. ~It's too far. We went there twice. Towing 270 miles with a small-block Suburban. It was never a tough tow. I know people that, before Dinwiddie and Epping, said they were three hours, or less, to every track in Division 1, Except Numidia. They said that they loved the track, the views, the food, etc. But "Gosh, it's three and a half hours...that's my long tow in the Division..." Well, for me, Numidia is four and a half hours--and it's my shortest tow in the Division. And. Division 3 is not much better (except for Norwalk and Columbus). So, I guess it depends on one's perspective.
