What are you talking about?
I ran every IHRA race I could get to last year.
Empire, Keystone, Piedmont, Farmington, MIR !
Plus a Contingency Sponsor for the Pure Stock Challenge..
What the hell you want ??

To answer your question
Yes I will support NHRA if they run the Pure Stockers and GT cars.
Would have made time to show up and so would have the others.
Would have paid NHRA fees to become an NHRA Contingency Sponsor.
I am not a passive sideline barker name-calling complainer.
It is about supporting the sport..!

It is tough to plan going to these events and dealing with commitments.
NHRA just plain erased decades of historic drag racing classes.

Before the IHRA blow-up, people were building and planning to build Pure Stocker for 2018.

Like Field of Dreams.....You build it they will come !

Despite all those that converted to NHRA Stockers.
At Piedmont a third of the cars were CM.
GT and PS would have pushed that past 50%

Ed Carpenter;
Eventually will have to convert to Stock to run Divisional Meets.
Found a place to get a proper Roll Bar installed....

For now happy and grateful with what I have.
Yeah it is about having fun !!

So you think 10 or 12 PS and GT cars would be been at Piedmont to make up 50% of the field Dan? There's barely that in the whole country, Perrone got you right Dilusional.....

Dan, NHRA erased nothing!! IHRA walked away from your class.
All of the Pure Stock deal was not profitable for IHRA, why would
you expect somebody else to want it. Division 2 examined where
they could help, and get financial help in return. They like IHRA,
decided it wasn't with your class, or with your awards posting.
So now we have IHRA saying No to Dan's class, NHRA saying
no to Dan's class, I don't know who is left that you can try.
Some people flog a dead horse. This horse has been processed
through the dog food factory, canned, sold, fed to the dog, dog has
pooped it out, and so go's the story. I am with Cooter on this one.

Ok so I did some digging. Since this is a 1/8th mile series let’s look at nitro joes 2017 ihra 1/8th mile stats shall we? So we had 4 (4) GT cars that raced in all of ihra in the 1/8 th mile in 2017 ( 2 of which we’re traditial stockers that were likely trying to avoid heads up runs, so that makes it 2!) now pure stockers. 9. 9 pure stockers ran in the 1/8th mile in ihra during 2017. Leave GT cars out of your arguments because in all actuality IF ihra had continued to race class cars this 2018 was going to be the last year for gt cars over there as they were getting the axe. Why? Because there was only 3 maybe 4 true gt cars in existence. Now are you ready for this? 2019 was going to be the last year for pure stockers. I still had a lot of friends that were officials in ihra and I talked to them and we had several long talks about it when they were deciding to do away with those classes. I told them it didn’t matter to me because I could run super stock by changing the letters on the windows. I do feel sorry for the guys like Bobby Ray and Gary who’s cars were 100% legal but the officials knew there were cars that weren’t legal but with the double race format there was never enough time to send them through tear down. So to hurt anyone’s feelings but what’s done is done and it took one division director to go out on a limb for the ss production and cm cars. I’m afraid with the lack of support in basically ihra country unless something happens at the remaining races the future don’t look to good. Bottom line is if you really want to class race you’ll fix your car to run within the rules of the sanctioning body that’s trying to give you an outlet to race. If not then Well big tires in the back little tires in the front and pick between top et or foot brake.

You are right HR...!!!!!!!!!!!
It was a Revolution and it was a GOOD Fight !!
Some are won and some are lost, cannot win unless you try !

As usual the detractors come out of the woodwork.
Name calling from the sidelines.
Try to beat you up and down trying to make a stand.

Still, it was worth it !!

Sounds like that information should have been made public a couple years ago.
About like the way they didn't mention anything about dropping class racing all together to all of the people who were at the last IHRA class race at Dragway 42 in Sept of 2017. There was a big dinner put on by Summit. Enough IHRA people were there they could have announced the changes then instead of just letting rumors fly or putting out a press release about their new bracket series.

I am glad NHRA Div 2 has stepped up to do this for the racers in the southeast. I hope as many take advantage of it as they can.
