I think having the back seat in the car, all NOS parts and the factory remote control side view mirror took me over the edge in this group of awesome cars. All kidding aside, I was humbled to be included here. When I built this car, I basically brought it back from the dead. A good friend of mine bought it brand new at A.D. Anderson Chevrolet in Baltimore. It is one of the 602 factory built Z28s and it's restored back the way it was delivered when it was new. I have all of the original paperwork for the car too. Ray Fairall, the original owner and I used to go head to head back in the early 1970s at Capitol Raceway.

I fell in love with Stock Eliminator back when these cars were new. Just the thought of owning one was no more than a dream when I was in high school. These were factory built race cars which enthusiasts all over the country bought new and used to compete in what is my favorite class, Stock Eliminator. Having the glass ceiling we have to work with makes it very competitive and that's what I loved about the class.

I've always been a stickler for stock appearing cars and this is also how I built my business, Camaro Hi-Performance restoring customer cars back to their original new condition.

The icing on the cake is all the great people in this sport. I look forward to every event. It's just not about winning, it's just about being there and being a apart of the sport that I loved since I was a kid.

Thanks everyone!

Here are a couple of our stock looking stockers. The Mustang is a car that was campaigned for years by Wayne Larsen. It's an original 71 Boss 351 car with the numbers matching block still in it. We haven't run it in a number of years now. The other is my Nova 72 350 car. Always a fan of clean uncluttered original looking stock and super stock cars.

As a side note, I'm happy to report that thanks to Wayne Totaro, he put me in touch with Jack Arnew. Anyone who's been in racing for a while know that his name is legendary in the sport. He did most of the front end suspension set ups on all of the killer cars during the late '60s and way into the 1970s. His work was second to none and Jack has just finished up the front end set up on my car. At 79 years young, he looks 65 and has that Dick Clark thing going on. Jack still enjoys doing this type of work part time. Thank you Jack Arnew!

Rick's post reminded me of this.
The Mustang I had used the original block all the time I had it. We had to sleeve the # 3 cylinder twice, but it still went with the car when I sold it. The head was original for a while until I torched it pretty good. I found a replacement on the boneyard hot line and Tibor did it for me. He was pretty tired of 2300 Fffffords by the time I was through.
Anyway, the pic is at the very first race, before I could get to the decal trailer.
This one's for Billy.

Some days, I wish I hadn't polluted mine with a bunch of stickers....
