Friend of mine's father bought three old mail jeeps for his pest control business. I drove one at Southland Dragway in Houma around 1974. If I remember it ran 24 seconds with the sliding door opening on the leave.

The Iron duke was used in various cars when I worked as a line mechanic in the mid to late 70’s. It had both intake and exhaust ports on one side of the head around 1976 and was changed the following year to intake on one side and exhaust on the other side. Many engines from all manufacturers were used in industrial applications long after they were discontinued in vehicles. The iron duke was one used a lot to power generators as well as marine engines. It had a very long life in various configurations!

How about one of the 68-74 Opels in the Guide? A 1971 Opel 2-dr sedan or wagon with the 115/75 2bbl L-4 has a minimum weight with driver in T of 1880lbs. It can go as low as 1790lbs in R.
