I once tried RP very thin oil in my Firebird Stocker.

Oil pressure would drop to near zero at low engine rpms...

I Dumped that oil out after 1 race weekend.....and it was no faster than what I was using before.....Mobil 1 10-30 or 5-30.....and oil pressure was always good with the Mobil 1 and it was faster than most other typical oils.....

I'm guessing you had a lot of bearing & internal oil pump clearances. Even with my Sherman low volume oil pump, my oil pressure at an idle would drop to 15 psi, after a pass, when the oil was warmed up. Never saw mine drop to zero. I run my stuff fairly tight.
