Don't be surprised when you see the track surface being razed. There's a new law in the works to tax properties that are paved having to do with runoff from their properties into the creeks, streams, lakes, just about any waterway. grassy areas would absorb the runoff. There was a lot going with the decision to close the drag strip portion of the property, my feeling a lot of it was self inflicted. But it is what it is.

If you look around at the dragstrips nowadays,The only ones showing any new improvements are either part of a racing complex, Vegas, charlotte or owned by a Business owner who is racer/car owner Galot, Virginia motorsports park, Atco, cecil county.

Only track owner I can come up with who has done major improvements is OZZY MOYA who owns SGMP, runs orlando and upgraded the track near Panama city. He sold his business to run tracks from what I understand.

My Point. Support any dragstrip you can. I try to go to local tracks at least twice a year to watch (even test and tune) and Buy a Burger and a Beer.

Only the Jersey Barriers are being removed, not the track surface.

Old Motocross track was moved a year ago to where the practice track was and made much larger to hold National Event type races.

The new "Rain Tax" is certainly an interesting dilemma for places like this that have a huge amount of paved acreage. E-Town has their own lake for water run-off, but what about shopping malls? Damn, we have a TON of them in this state!

Still, this should show that the rumors of the track being re-opened for Drag Racing were just that, rumors.........

That makes sense. They have a concert / beer festival coming up in the summer and the barriers would not be good for that.

Where's everybody going to take cover at the first concert shootout?

I have now seen 4 race tracks beginning demolished, Islip speedway NY (1/8 mile), New York National Speedway, Westhampton Raceway and now the Worst one English Town Raceway. I’m heartbroken so many great memories.

It's a band called Rancid. Doesn't sound acoustic to me. I hope the neighbors enjoy it.
