In looking at the car from the live stream, it has "RT" with black stripes going down the side (I believe only offered with the 5.7) and also appears to have a hood scoop (unknown functionality) that appears to say "392 Hemi". Interesting car

VIN does NOT have to be correct for years as long
as appearance is correct for the year.

First off, thanks to everyone for the interest in the car. Second, everything conforms to the 2011 6.4 392 380/402 classification. Simply a typo I have since corrected is the year on my NHRA racer profile and tech card printout. The car is a factory built DragPak but we don’t run it as such.

Haven't seen the car but it should have the production 2011 hood, not the DP correct ?

I would think there would be more than the hood on a DP (factory race car with no VIN),compared to an SRT (street car) which it's being run as.The SRT's are heavy, how much ballast is being run to make the class with a DP body/chassis.The way things are now it may be ok,but it don't seem right. gsa612

I'm not sure it is a DP hood. Looks like a 2011 R/T hood scoop with Hemi 392 stickers from the grainy still shot of drag racer tv video I saw. But it does look like the same R/T hood and grille from when it was pictured running SS/FA previously, except HEMI 392 decals not present in pic of SS/FA trim.

I looked into building a 2010 5.7 for what I believe would be J/SA. I asked what rules I use. The stock production specs or a Drag pack spec. Just like the Copo specs and a Normal production car specs. First thing is that Both cars engine location is different. At that time they had no answer and no idea of the difference but soon as I mentioned the Copo deal when they showed up at Indy flying. The factory race car specs are fine now. Go figure!.
My real question at the time was the rear axle. To build a Challenger you have to basically go through some serious changes to run one in stock. No budget stocker here. I asked them why can't I if i want run a V6 with the stock rearend since there is a replacement ford 9" pumpkin available and use all the stock axles and stuff. I guess that won't fly since i never heard back. The car is still sitting in my shop resting. Paul Haszlauer |
