Been subscribing to Car Craft since 1977. I heard more than 10 titles were either disappearing or going on-line only. I got a Car Craft mag this past Saturday and there was subscription card or two inside. Didn’t look to see what it said. I almost renewed in the beginning of December before I got word it was not going to be published anymore.

I read Hot Rod online, and I get the print version. I just looked at their site, which includes versions of their online mags. Only Hot Rod has been updated regularly. The most recent articles on the other titles are between a couple months and a couple years old! https://www.hotrod.com

I hate when a business doesn't update their customers.

They also have still been sending offers of subscriptions (print).

Recently, I considered paying for the online version of their content, which they call, "Motor Trend", I think. Glad I didn't. Screw 'em.

I'm sixty, maybe younger folks will disagree, but I really don't believe the world is heading in the all-online content direction, as some (apparently Hot Rod), believe. I can read news online, but I like reading an actual car magazine. Hot Rod is ruining their brand.

I like the part in the article that says no one will be laid off, I guess they didn't count the guys that physically printed and distributed the magazines.
Sad to see magazines and newspapers going away. Car Craft was one that I subscribed to but they had gotten so far away from drag racing there wasn't much left that interested me any more.

I still miss Super Stock and Drag Illustrated. I thought it was better than both HR and CC, as far as Drag Racing was concerned.

SS&DI was king! I started getting it around 1982 and I used to tear out the "good" articles about the six and eight cylinder Modified Production cars, the Super Stock and Stock heavy hitters cars and staple them and put them in a folder. I was sad when it went belly up. A few years ago my girls were doing a "spring" cleaning and tossed my SS&DI folder with at least 3/4 of an inch of irreplaceable wisdom. The folder also included the Super Chevy article about my Brothers 58 Chevy Yeoman wagon. It was an ugly duckling that drew attention every where we went in the south. It was an IHRA Production Super Stock record holder when he bought it and was when he sold it .After I realized all my good stuff was gone I was depressed for a week. The "real" Hot Rod magazines are gone that done tests with cam swaps, intake manifold swaps, header swaps, ect.. The good magazines done stories on Modified Production cars, Super Stock and Stock Eliminator cars as well as the previously mentioned articles. They also taught what made horse power and what didn't. The junk in print now promotes chrome, twin turbos, spoilers, Bimbo's and rice rockets. There is very little left in the current printed automotive media that appeals to me. This is sad, I doubt I am the only car nut that feels this way.
