Don’t forget basis ply tire grown. Much more clearance needed
Not like a dragster.

1/2 may be enough, although it might rub when you turn. Keep in mind if you need to add weight in the trunk it will sit even lower. I actually had to beat in the inner wheel house at the bottom edge. Just need to get creative with a dead blow hammer! A little bit here and there helps.
