I didn’t pass fuel check after 4th round. After about an hour and several tests and a confirmation by the on site Sunoco distributor, my local dealer evidently filled my jugs with the wrong fuel and I didn’t know. After poor racing performance the last few years and finally having a decent race day I was very disappointed as anyone would be.

I have always heard, perhaps incorrectly that Sunoco pumped into the racers fuel jugs would not pass fuel check. I have always bought it in the metal cans for that reason. Is this just an old racer tale?

I get Sunoco purple pumped into my drum in the back of the truck and have never been close to failing a fuel check....just my experience with one supplier. Your mileage may vary!

I have never had a problem since 2015 and have never bought a barrel of fuel. In my case they just filled my jugs with the wrong fuel.
