Default Re: 289 Ford SS carbs

I am currently building a '64 Comet for SS/MA, actually the car is well along and will be ready to test fire in the next few weeks. The motor is a '64 289 210/220 which is the big carb Merc motor combo. I just notice that the small carb Mustang motor is rated at 203 in GT RWD, that combo seems better so I am considering switching to GT/QA to take advantage of that combo, the only difference is the carb so not a big issue to change. If the smaller carb has minimal performance lose, this is sort of a no brainer.

In case anyone is wondering, I'm still racing my SS/FS Escort. The Comet was my racer that I have owned since I was a teenager, it's been sitting in the corner of the shop and finally putting it back together, not like I would ever sell it. As a sidenote, remember when we used to buy cars like this in the Nickel Ads for $500, swap your engine, trans and rearend in and go racing a few weeks later? A little more complicated and way more expensive now.
