Gators should have been increased to 70-80 cars. There is plenty of room for that amount of rigs there. Good to see that NHRA did increase some of the event quotas

Glad to see quotas increased, I know a lot of guys (myself included) who managed to get 8 or more grade points last year, and others have them from previous year. I think even with increased quotas a lot of races are going to fill up quick. Lets hope COVID doesn't end up causing a lot of cancellations, also think there are a lot of 'transfers' out there.

Glad quotas were increased. I wish NHRA would bring back the performance aspect of qualifying by allowing an extra 20% entries over the quota amount. Make the quota amount a qualified field. Use the entry fees of the extra 20% entries to give the #1 qualifier $500 and the remainder to the event champion.

I too would like to see quotas increased but not at the expense of a smaller qualified field. Not that has been suggested.
In my opinion and from what I have been told two things affect quota size. The pit space available and the time required to get all the cars down the track for qualifying and eliminations with this more often being the limiting factor. |
