My wife's old Subaru had a Hill Holder Clutch that allowed you to set the brake and release your foot on an incline so I looked it up. What we would call Line Lock was invented by Warner Electric and manufactured by Bendix Brakes. It was first introduced as an option on the 1936 Studebaker President. Honda Fit, Mini Cooper and a bunch of Volkswagen's have something like a line lock from the factory.
My apology to the Hurst Corporation. I like my Roll Control just fine.
