Funny thing...
Those 700 year old laws were written by kings and oppressors that were under constant threat of revolt...
That's how our country (U.S.A.) came to be, one of England's many civil wars...
(They call it sedition today)
Hence the reason for the laws, to control the oppressed...
Our Constitution was written in an attempt to right those oppressions...
Remember 700 years ago most of Europe was kings and slaves, (indentured or not, slaves none the less)
You got what the king would let you have, nothing more...
And sometimes less...
