Sad to hear Dan passed. I never met him but spoke with him many times on the phone. Always a pleasure and a learning experience.
Bought a crank scaper from him some years back. He said there was an additional benefit with using it...he guaranteed if the motor blew up all the internal pieces would stay in the pan. I do not know if that's true as of yet! God be with you and yours.

During the races at Gainesville, Dan's shop was always open - to any brand of racer - You had to "know" Dan, but he was really a great guy. God Speed my friend.

If NHRA had put Dan in charge of cylinder head inspection things would be way different today. A good man. RIP Dan.

Going thru his protest tear down at Gainesville one year, Dan passed with flying colors. He took time to school me on what to look for on Mopar cylinder heads when it came to illegal modifications.
