I can't answer that. But, as with most old Stockers, there are probably some here who can provide all the history of most any car that ran fairly good, for a reasonable length of time.

I remember reading the history of some cars on the Best Pontiac Powered Stockers thread, which included maybe a half dozen or so different owners/drivers. There is so much info in that thread, I couldn't hope to remember it all.

I was just going thru a few pages this morning, & read some stuff I'd forgotten. Even read where some had re-posted some info, which they could tell I'd already forgotten.

So, the history of this car may have been posted somewhere back in that thread. If anybody here knows of such info, please post a link to it.

I didn't know MOST of these cars/drivers. Never even heard of many of 'em, prior to the Pontiac Stockers thread. So, I've probably learned more from the thread than most here. It's been fun !

Another wrinkle to the old system, Maybe those with better memories than myself can confirm this. Occasionally, someone would set a record for a lower class. Causing some havoc forcing a lower class to spot a higher class. I may be wrong on this? I do know it has happened under the present system but the index nulled it for other cars in the class.

I have attached a cleaned up copy of the 79 Indexes.
