NOT a hood scoop, but cold air cleaner housing to fender tubes to the front on a Fox Body car. Fresh air instead of hot air under the hood. It was worthy in this part of the country in August.

Don, my 85 5.0 carbed Mustang also had the ducting from behind the bumper to the inner fenders, but I tried back to back testing with the factory dual snorkle air cleaner with the plastic flex tubes connecting the fender ducts to the air cleaner snorkles, with and without a K&N filter inside, and basically it ran the same with or without the air cleaner housing on, or just letting the ducts blow the air all around the engine compartment. Maybe that huge aluminum air cleaner assembly trapped enough engine heat between the intake manifold and carb, to offset any benefit of potentially cooler air going into that "oven".
