This is one part of getting older I never considered as a young man. Though it is part of life, it is painful to see your legends and heroes pass away.
Dan lived and breathed drag racing in the very best ways. When I was involved with the original Musclecar Nationals in the late 1980s, he was a huge help at our Gainesville event due to his advice and support. |

It’s interesting that this thread popped back up now. Coming home after we withdrew from Virginia I drove past Dan’s shop. Kinda sad to see. Looking a little run down. Several old cars out front. Went by so fast couldn’t id them. Wondered what treasures might still be in the shop. RIP Dan. Mike McMahan 2543 H/SA

I drove by his shop (too fast) last year and regretted not turning around. I saw a '63 Dodge wagon and a sedan without a front end.
