Yeah that was an odd thing Nhra made the semi finalist scale. one guy drove across the scale was light and drove off. I was told it didn’t matter.
ended up he was made to come back and scale correctly, he ended up at 2520 pounds I was reinstated, it is a very long story but that’s the short version.

280 pounds light deserves more than a DQ….sure his earlier opponents feel the same way.

My Vega with a small block weighed 2515 with me in it and well over 100lbs of steel plates in the back. That was when S/ST had a 2500lb weight minimum! Getting to 2800 would not have been possible with a small block. I was very surprised they weighed cars and DQ’ed that racer. That’s blatant though, 300lbs !
