The TS rings are too hard for production blocks typically, and no the hone won't fix it properly regardless of what TS says. More RVK in the hone surface will help, but then you're creating unnecessary friction.
Mahle's HV385 top ring is the best choice for any block, production or aftermarket, if your bore size, width, and radial are available.
